Save time making changes or updates to AI voiceovers in Google Vids

What’s changing

We recently announced an update that adds AI voiceovers automatically when using Help me create in Google Vids. In continuing our efforts to enhance AI voiceover features, you can now make updates to your scripts and apply changes to your AI voiceovers with one click for every scene in your Vid, whether doing this manually or using Help me create

Existing AI voiceovers will be automatically replaced and scenes will automatically extend to match the voiceover length. In addition, users are now able to see previews of their end to end scripts in the script panel, making it easier to make edits and apply changes using the 'Generate all voiceovers' button.

Why you’d use it

This feature grants you easy access to generate voiceovers for multiple scenes at once to provide you with professional narration across a video. In addition, it saves time replacing existing voiceover generations and extends scenes in your video to match voiceover lengths.

Additional details

Scenes are only extended to match voiceovers, they are not automatically shortened to avoid unintentional removal/cropping of scene content. Only AI Voiceovers generated in Vids will be automatically replaced when generating new voiceovers, existing non-generated audio objects will not be deleted.

Adding new capabilities to Google Vids’ ‘Help me create’

    What’s changing

When constructing a vid, you can easily get started by using a set of generative AI capabilities. Gemini’s ‘Help me create’ can generate a fully editable first draft of your video using a prompt and content from your Google Drive. After choosing a style, Gemini pieces together your vid with suggested scenes, including recommended stock media, text, scripts per scene, and even a background music track.

Today, we’re excited to introduce a new ‘Help me create’ feature that automatically generates AI voiceovers for each scene of your Vid from the AI suggested scripts.

    With this update, you can:
    • Eliminate the manual effort of recording “the perfect take”
    • Gain easy access to a variety of voiceovers that provide you with professional-sounding video narration
    • Save time matching voiceovers to scenes in your video with automatic audio to scene alignment
new ‘Help me create’ feature that automatically generates AI voiceovers for each scene of your Vid from the AI suggested scripts

AI voiceovers are intended to save you time so you can get to a first draft faster, but you are still able to easily edit your suggested scripts and update your voiceovers in one click, or select from a variety of different AI voices with different pitches and tones to best suit your video’s purpose.

For example, if a user is interacting with a document affected by DLP-enforced information rights management (IRM) and a trust rule, they will see a shield icon and side panel that informs them of the restricted actions.

Today, we’re excited to announce the general availability of Google Vids for select Workspace editions. Here’s how you can use it:

With ‘Help me create’, Gemini suggests scripts to get you started or you can write your own. You can easily add a voiceover by either choosing from one of Gemini’s preset AI voices or by recording your own voice using a teleprompter with Gemini read-along and rolling features that help you record your message with confidence. You can also use the Vids’ in-product recording studio to:
      • Add a video recording of yourself.
      • Add a screen recording with narration.
      • Add a screen recording with video recording.
      • Add audio-only recording.

Similar to other productivity tools like Docs, Sheets, and Slides, Vids includes a simple, easy-to-use interface and the ability to collaborate in real-time and share projects securely from your browser.

In summary, Vids enables you to produce engaging videos that help scale your message, build connections and break through the noise across your organization.

      Why you’d use it

We know that creating and editing video has felt challenging because in the past it has required special skills or licensing, but with Google Vids the power of storytelling is in your hands. Now teams can build and tell compelling stories at work, scaling and landing their message to engage coworkers in an effective way.
